Raise Your Game Show with Alan Stein, Jr.

Season 6, Episode 23: Chris Brickley

Episode Summary

Welcome to Season 6 of the Raise Your Game Show – a podcast that zeros in on the proven principles and time tested strategies of high performance in sports and business. In this season I chop it up with an array of high performers from a variety of different fields and with a variety of different areas of expertise to find out the habits, mindset, and disciplines they’ve developed to not only raise their game… but to sustain it as well. More specifically, I will find out what they have done, and what they continue to do, to manage stress, avoid stagnation, and beat burnout. After all, it’s one thing to reach the top, it’s another to stay there. I hope you enjoy - and more importantly - I hope you benefit from the wisdom they bestow… and that it helps you raise… and sustain… your game! In this episode, I am joined by world renowned basketball trainer, or shall I say basketball influencer extraordinaire, Chris Brickley. Chris is a former D-1 basketball player who played for Rick Pitino at Louisville, was the player development coordinator for the New York Knicks, and is currently the owner of Black Ops Basketball, a full service training program for the biggest names in the NBA and hip hop. And I'm not joking when I say that Chris has been instrumental in helping raise the game of guys like James harden, Donovan Mitchell, Carmelo Anthony, and CJ McCullum, as well as rap icons, like J Cole, Meek Mill, and Travis Scott off the court. Chris has an endorsement deal with Puma, his own show on ESPN Plus, and is one of Instagram's most sought after basketball influencers, having garnered endorsement deals with Smartwater and NBA2K. And if all of that's not impressive enough, he launched his own streetwear brand called colorblind, which has been championed by super celebrities like Justin Bieber and Chloe Kardashian. And the best part about Chris, he's built his entire empire brick by brick and rep by rep in the gym. Here's some of my favorite thoughts from our chat.
